Mooncrush & Moonless: the pullover patterns
I am so excited about this remake of last summer’s colorblock releases: the Mooncrush Tank and the Moonless Tank. Like the originals, these patterns feature a boxy, relaxed fit, and the only difference between the two is the colorwork — Mooncrush features intarsia panels on the front and back (2- or 3-color) while Moonless is entirely stockinette. Both patterns include the new scoop neck option (pictured here on Mooncrush), along with the original crew neck design (pictured here on Moonless).

Fabric facing for a knitted button band
Adding a fabric facing to the button band of a hand-knit sweater makes for a clean, stabilized edge that both looks and wears better than the knitted band on its own. While hand-knit fabric is extremely stretchy and floppy, a woven fabric — like a cotton lawn or a quilting cotton — has no stretch and holds its shape extremely well, making it perfectly suited for the part of a garment that is constantly being tugged and manipulated in day-to-day wear. It’s also a great place to add some personality to your sweater — I’ve used a beautiful Liberty of London print from EWE Fibers to add a bit of joy to the inside of my cardigan.
Bandit: A cardigan for the righteous rabbit
BANDIT is a whimsical cardigan for the playful thief in all of us. The design was inspired by Beatrix Potter’s timeless illustrations, featuring subtle gathers around the collar and cuffs, and named for Peter Rabbit, the daring childhood hero who knew how to claim a carrot that was rightfully his. With a seamless yoked top-down construction knit mostly in stockinette and unique folded hems for the collar and cuffs, this design is meant to be a comfort project, both in the making and wearing.
Ursina: The lightweight URSA
URSINA is a classic sweater with simple construction and unique detailing. A rework of my URSA sweater pattern, which was designed for bulky weight yarn in 9 sizes, this new pattern has been graded for both sport and worsted weight in 12 sizes. The sweater is constructed from the top-down with raglan shaping for the sleeves, optional horizontal bust darts in 6 cup sizes, and instructions and yardage details for cropped or full length. Like the original pattern, URSINA includes directions to try it on as you work and notations to help you tweak the size according to your preference.
Osprey: The pullover Plover
OSPREY is a squishy, simple pullover with clean lines and quiet texture. This pattern was adapted from PLOVER, the lightweight warm-weather cardigan in a loose gauge that was originally published in Making No. 9 / SIMPLE. Knit in a heavier yarn at a denser gauge than Plover, Osprey includes 9 sizes and drections and yarn requirements for two lengths (cropped/full length). This versatile pullover makes the perfect layering piece for any cool-weather wardrobe.
Yarn substitution at different weights
One of my favorite things to do as a designer is to reject established “rules” in the knitting world. From assumptions about grading patterns for fat bodies to the received wisdom about what kind of yarn is good for what kind of project, I relish the opportunity to subvert expectations.
